The mother, Winfred Waithera, has now asked bloggers not to speculate about her private life without facts.

According to Waithera, bloggers have continued to peddle lies when the family is grieving following her daughter's tragic death. She has said that the murder of her daughter has left her heartbroken and shocked.

While addressing the media on Sunday at their Thika Makongeni Phase 10 home, the mother lamented that it was unfortunate that some media houses have continued to portray their daughter as a bad woman yet they do not know much about her private life.

The mother, who teaches at Chomo Secondary School in Gatanga, Murang’a County, also said that she was not aware that Wangeci was dating the suspected killer Naftali Njahi Kinuthia because he had not been introduced to him in a formal way.

“I want to make it clear that the Ivy the bloggers are talking about and trying to portray in a bad light in social media is not the same one we knew. The Ivy we knew was God-fearing, disciplined and one who did not depend on or have sponsors,” said Waithera, as quoted by Standard.

The suspect has been discharged from hospital pending investigations.

Kinuthia, who works as a systems administrator at a city betting firm, drove all the way from Thika to Eldoret to commit the heinous act.

The deceased will be laid to rest on Thursday in Mahiga village in Othaya, Nyeri County.
