On Friday when they shared podium in Nyamira, Ruto suggestively accused Raila of 'living in denial'.

"Elections are way behind us. If you lose in polls, just accept and move on. We can't talk of elections all the time," Ruto said.

The two were sharing podium for the first time at Sironga  during the burial of former minister Henry Obwocha.

But in Kisii on Saturday, Raila fired back at Ruto, insisting that he never participated in presidential elections last year.

"When you come out and claim that I should accept defeat, which defeat are you talking about?

"I never ran for a seat after the court nullified Uhuru's victory. This person should be told that Jubilee ran itself in a skewed election," he said.

The two have been throwing jibes at each other with pundits linking them to 2022 polls.

Although Raila has not shown interest, his body language in the recent tour at Gusii suggests that he could be in ballot.
