The invitation came after the controversial legislator declared his interest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

In an exclusive interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday night, Kuria said his focus was on the presidency, adding he was ready to work with like-minded leaders including Raila despite being his fiercest critic in the past.

"We (Raila and I) used to be in a political contest but now we are in the state of handshake and are working together," he said during JKL show.

The remarks were cherished by ODM director of communications Philip Etale who asked Kuria to join hands with the former Prime Minister in transforming the country.

"I welcome Hon. Moses Kuria to work with Raila Odinga and other like-minded leaders to make Kenya great. We need concerted efforts to reclaim the country's lost glory," said the party spokesperson.

The Gatundu legislator praised the newfound love between Uhuru and Raila saying it had brought peace and stability in the country.

He said the peace deal has enabled him to visit Kisumu without fearing unlike in the past when he could not go past the city's airport.

"The handshake is a very good thing. I can now enjoy walking in Kisumu. Recently when I accompanied the President and the former Prime Minister during the launch of universal health coverage I got a very good reception," Kuria noted.
