Speaking in his constituency on Friday, Kivasu said Ukambani leaders have concentrated on fighting each other instead of discharging their duties.

"Look at our leaders, they are only throwing harsh words against each other instead of working together in ensuring development is achieved in the region," Kivasu said.

Kivasu said the Ukambani region will remain behind in terms of development of its leaders won't realize the purpose of their positions.

He said the wrangles led to some of the seats being won by 'outside' political parties in the August 8, 2017's elections.

"There's no need for the fights, let everyone do his or her job and there won't any complaints. Trying to flex your muscles against your brother from the same region, that's uncalled for," Kivasu said.

This comes just a day after Wiper leader and NASA co-principal Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka urged ex-Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and former Kathiani Member of Parliament Wavinya Ndeti to close ranks and work together.

Kalonzo said the two are both Machakos leaders and if they continue fighting its only Machakos people who will continue suffering due to the enmity created.

"My brother Muthama and sister Wavinya, there's no need for fighting. Work together reasonably like children of the same region and spare Machakos people the pain of having to fight each other over you," Kalonzo said.
