Retired President Daniel Moi asked former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to foster peace among Kenyans and across the world, it has emerged.

Mr Musyoka visited the former president at Kabarak on Friday following an invitation dating November 2nd.

Moi is also said to have congratulated Kalonzo in his new appointment as Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission head in troubled South Sudan, a position he assumed early this week.

In a statement issued by Moi's Press Secretary Lee Njiru, Moi is also said to have asked Kalonzo to support young leaders in spearheading peace missions across the world.

“Young leaders should strive to be united in their service to the public,” said Mr Moi.

The former president said young leaders now are in a better position to improve service to their constituents.

Present in the meeting were Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo, EALA's Kennedy Musyoka, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi among other Ukambani leaders.

A fortnight ago, the octogenarian politician through his son Gideon, asked Musyoka to visit him after his father's funeral so that he could personally condole with him.
