The former Ruaraka OCS Nahashon Mutua on Thursday was sentenced to death for murder.

Mr.Mutua was found guilty of killing an inmate, Martin Koome in 2013. 

He was sentenced to death by High Court Lady Justice Stella Mutuku.

“The Prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the police caused the deceased suffering while in cells which caused his death,” Lady Justice Stella Mutuku as quoted by Citizen. 

Mutua had initially denied committing murder. 

The OCS had defended himself claiming that Mr. Koome had been beaten by other inmates on December 19, 2013 for making noise in the cells. 

However, the judge sentenced him to death after critically analyzing the evidence presented by the 18 witnesses in this case.
