Two Members of Parliament (MPs) who were elected on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket, have told senate Majority Leader Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen to stop dragging Opposition Chief Raila Odinga’s name in the on-going Mau forest evictions.
Recently, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator was quoted saying that Odinga is behind the eviction of people from the massive water tower.
His sentiments have attracted the wrath of two ODM MPs in the name of Nyando’s Jared Okello and his Uriri counterpart Mark Nyamita.
Speaking at a Church’s funds drive in Nyakach Kisumu County on Saturday, the two leaders bashed Murkomen for linking Raila, famously known as Baba to the evictions.
“There is a boy whom I recently heard saying that Mau forest evictions is the work of Baba. I hear people call him Senator Murkomen. I want to tell him, Baba is not part of Jubilee. If he has a problem with anyone, he should come to me so that we square it out. Who does he think he is?” posed Jared Okello.
“He is a lawyer. If he truly knows that people are being illegally evicted from the Mau forest, can he go and represent the people of Mau in court. That way, he will be using his brain as a lawyer, not blaming Baba,” said Nyamita.
