Adan Mukhtar, father of former Garissa Finance Executive Idriss Mukhtar has maintained that Garissa Governor Ali Korane allegedly had a hand in his son’s attempted murder.Mukhtar further alleges that Governor Korane is the individual allegedly hindering the wheels of justice for his son.Speaking to journalists at Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday, Mukhtar alleged that the Garissa governor is out to 'finish' the case.“Go to Garissa today and ask a 6-year-old about the person behind my son’s shooting. He or she will identify the governor,” he alleged.Mukhtar said that his family has given up on a quest for justice.“There is no point of pushing and waiting for justice that will never be served,” he said.Mukhtar who has since resigned as Garissa Teachers College Principal said he will go to India to take care of his son.“I am leaving the country a disappointed and bitter man,” he said.Idriss survived an attempted assassination on August 19 in Kileleshwa.He has a bullet lodged in his head and is battling for life in ICU.Governor Korane is among suspects who have been quizzed in connection to the shooting.The governor has however denied any involvement.
