Miguna, who was deported after participating in ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga’s mock swearing, rubbished a comparison between Kenyan economy and Nigeria’s as posed by Mutua.

Mutua noted that there is a need for constitutional change if the government wants to solve problems this nation is ever facing. He noted that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Nigeria is $ 1.2 trillion compared to Kenya’s $ 175 billion.

He also highlighted the country a population of 50 million while Nigeria is 200 million yet the government has managed to improve their living standards.

Mutua tried to bring out the aspect that there are many elective posts as provided by the constitution. The remarks of the Prof didn’t augur well with Miguna who termed his way of thinking as petty.

“This is nonsense. Kenyan looters have stolen and stashed Shs. 15 trillion abroad. Kenya's national debt is Shs. 5 trillion. If the stolen wealth is repatriated, Kenya will be debt free with a bonus of Shs. 10 trillion. Focus on looting and constitutional violations. Not pettiness,” he said.

The differences between the two come amid referendum calls from various leaders across the nation.
