This a list of people who were elevated in their social status by the help of social media.

1.Young James Mbugua

The 'Mathwiti' hitmaker was recorded in a video feigning dramatic facial expression after he was chased away from a birthday party for being dirty and untidy. His video went viral in social media attracting the attention of good wishers who brought him lots of goodies.

In his latest song 'Mathwiti', Young Mbugua is tidy and classy and states that does not believe that it is him as he thanks God for far He has brought him.

'Mathwiti' which means 'sweets' is a trending song and it has attracted much attention on youtube.

2.Onkendi

Onkendi who hails from Suneka in Kisii County amazed many by his prowess in football commentary and his knowledge of Radio Maisha's presenters and their programs.

His video was captured by a random citizen and after sharing it, it went viral attracting the attention of many.

Stephen Mukangai (a football commentator from Radio Maisha) traced Onkendi and they hosted him in one of their morning show. 

Onkendi's story of his emotional personal life touched many Kenyans who raised thousands of shillings to cater to Onkendi's medical bills and education.

3.Martin Kamotho

Popularly known as 'Githeri man' he rose to fame after he was captioned munching his githeri while queuing to cast his vote during the August 8 general elections.

His photo went viral across all social media and he becomes a fortnight celebrity.

Good fortunes started following, he received goodies from mobile network providers, corporations and the media. 

He was invited to President Uhuru Kenyatta's inaugural ceremony at Kasarani stadium on Nov 28, 2017. He also received Head of State Commendation during Jamhuri day celebration for uniting Kenyans during electioneering period.
