Speaking at the Kitale Showground, Trans Nzoia County during celebrations to mark PEFA’s Bishop Samuel Thiongo’s retirement, Ruto said that the current government will not achieve much if leaders will not be united during the remaining period.

The second in command, who is considered as one of the front-runners in the race for power in 2022, said elections are over and now it’s time to concentrate on matters of development amid referendum calls.

“Elections are over and this is now the time to work together, regardless of party affiliations to change Kenya for the benefit of our people,” he said.

Ruto, who is against the creation of the post of Prime Minister, said that it take unity for the country to realize development. He reminded the leaders not to politic from the whole year round when they should be working on their agenda.

He noted that the government is putting in place measures to ensure the Big Four Agenda materializes.

Ruto, who has hinted at his retirement from politics in 10 years down the line, was accompanied by MPs Caleb Amisi (Saboti), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) and Oscar Sudi (Kapseret).
