Speaking on NTV's Sidebar on Tuesday night, Kutuny said DP Ruto's alleged hate remarks set a bad precedent as leaders work on the country's unity.

He warned that such careless remarks could easily plunge the country into chaos.

"It is unfortunate that a person of DP Ruto's calibre can utter such careless remarks that he well knows can cause animosity among Kenyans," he said during the interview.

The MP added, " The DP must apologise whether he was referring to a certain individual or not."

Kutuny said that politicians must watch their tongues to avoid dividing Kenyans into tribal lines.

The vocal legislator also asked Kenyans to shun politicians whose agenda he said is to cause tribal divisions.

The Deputy President is under attack over a statement he allegedly made last weekend that has been interpreted offensive to the Luo community.

A section of politicians among them Kericho Senator  Aron Cheruyiot has however defended the Deputy President saying his statement was taken out of context and exaggerated to taint his image.

While addressing the public last weekend, DP Ruto allegedly said that political behaviour of some leaders are well known and there is no need for entertaining them.

"These people who are giving us so many stories, we know them and they are well known for destroying. If they are not breaking political parties, then they are destroying houses, if not houses they are uprooting railways and if not railways then they are splitting friends, why should we entertain them?" the DP allegedly said.
