A preacher at Carwash area in Kisumu is reported to have left residents in shocked after he allegedly stripped and started walking naked on Sunday Morning just after waking up.
Kelly Omondi, the said preacher, had hardly woken up from sleep one and half hours after the time he used to wake up, 6:00 AM.
To his mom, this was unusual for a man who wakes up very early every Sunday to prepare for the service.
But when he came out of sleep, he is said to have stripped naked and started walking naked.
According to a witness, the victim crashed out of the house naked while struggling to hold his Bible with shaking hands.
“He was aggressive. Sounded angry. Struggled to get hold of the Bible. It looks like he slept with the Bible in his hands. The three neighbours helped us to lock him inside,” said his cousin.
Hivisasa was made to understand that the preacher has a history of sleeping difficulties and sometimes back he used to act strangely before waking up.
Residents are of the belief that he was having demonic visitations.
However, a psychologist at Agha Khan hospital Kisumu was of the thought he might be suffering from sleep paralysis.
"Sleep paralysis makes the patient unable to move before falling asleep or waking up and could last seconds to a few minutes", he said.
Angeline Namai, his mother, urged well-wishers to help raise funds in order to take the victim to another diagnosis and treatment since the symptoms never seem to match with the initially diagnosed illness.
Kelly was supposed to join another team of preachers at Kondele Pentecostal Church before the strange event occurred to him.
