This was in agreement with the area political kingpin Raila Odinga who called for a boycott, after doubting the poll preparation, following the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection in the earlier August 8 race.

This ranked the Luo people among the most united communities in the nation, since even the ones inhabiting other counties avoided the election, leading to a noticeable turnout drop as compared to the initial poll.

The community also put it in public domain that it is in full agreement with Odinga and is fully behind him, cautioning outsiders eyeing the Luo vote-rich basket in the approaching 2022 election of an impossible task ahead.

This also confirmed the thought that Odinga's rivals in the race, specifically President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto indeed performed badly in the region, otherwise they would have convinced their minority numbers to participate in the repeat poll.

Finally, the region indirectly noted that it will most likely rally behind the former Premier in 2022 and should be expected to again either fully back his bid or vote in line with his wishes, supporting his presidential candidate of choice.
