According to Nyamira County Police Commander Catherine Mugo, the suspect presented fake KCSE certificate at the recruitment process but, varnished later from the recruitment exercise.

"Teenagers seeking employment should ensure they are presenting valid documents to avoid being in the wrong side of the law. We are hunting a teenager who presented fake papers and we are hopeful that we will apprehend him to serve as an example to the rest," she noted.

Mugo reiterated that youths during the Tuesday, December 4, 2018 recruitment exercise were given equal opportunities.

She warned cartels against soliciting money from members of the public on grounds that they will provide admission letters.

"The public must not accept to be tricked by cartels claiming they will give them admission letters to join KDF," she added.

The officer who was in charge of the recruitment exercise Elphas Kinyua said over 300 youths showed up for the recruitment.

He said cheats will face the law.
