The Jubilee governor was grilled on Wednesday along with Saku MP Did Rasso and North Horro’s Chach Nganye.

The politicians were summoned by detectives over their alleged involvement in the ethnic skirmishes in some parts of the county.

The governor has denied involvement in the clashes, blaming security agencies for failing to play their roles.

He said that the clashes are related to past conflicts.

“I have nothing to do with the clashes as it has been reported in some sections of the media and the police should do their work to calm the situation,” he said in an interview on citizen TV on Thursday.

The ethnic clashes have partly been reported in Jaldesa, Qubi Qallo and Dhokkatu villages.

Hundreds of families are said to have fled their homes for fear of the clashes spreading.

There are claims that the clashes that started in September are linked to the 2022 succession politics.

According to North Eastern regional coordinator Mohamed Birik, the national government has deployed security to tame the attacks.

Birik has since warned politicians against causing conflicts noting that those who do it will face the full force of the law.
