Nyamira County Women Representative Jerusha Momanyi has linked boda boda riders to the increased pregnancy cases among school girls in the region.
According to the Jubilee MP, riders who dropped school have been luring school girls with money to have illicit sex leading to unexpected pregnancies.
"Our girls are the target by boda boda riders thus increased pregnancy cases in Nyamira County.
"It is time parents should step up efforts and ensure any rider who has impregnated a school girl is held accountable and legal action be taken,” she noted.
She regretted that the future of young girls is being ruined by riders who have turned to be hyenas to chew small girls.
Jerusha said the girl child education should be taken serious by ensuring girls are given respect and humble time to complete education.
“Let us not be cheated with cheap money to exchange our girls to riders. As parents we must ensure girls get proper education to compete with men in the job market,” she added.
She challenged local chiefs to arrest riders chewing school girls and surrender them to police for court processing.
