A colleague, whose identity has not been disclosed, revealed that the pilot, Yared Getachew, was not well-furnished with the simulator for the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

The colleague also revealed that the pilot was set to undertake a refresher training at the end of this month before the incident occurred. The crash occurred approximately two months after the airline acquired the simulator.

It remains unclear whether the co-pilot, First Officer Ahmednur Mohammed, 25 has any skills to do with the simulator before the incident took place leaving all the members on board dead.

The manufacturer reportedly did not provide them with manuals of the simulator.

“Boeing did not send manuals on MCAS,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

The revelation comes after China, Ethiopia and United States of America (USA) grounds the operations of the Boeing 737 MAX 8. World leaders have continued to raise concern over the safety standards of the plane following the crash.

The airline has promised to work with other authorities to ensure that the victims are compensated.

The victims’ DNA results are expected to be released after six months following the accident.
