Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has now shifted his guns to National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, accusing him of persistent sabotage and plot to kick him out of powerful house committees.

On his Facebook page on Monday, Kuria accused Duale of witch-hunt, adding that the Garissa Town MP after all does not have powers to dewhip him.

"So now Aden Duale wants to dewhip me from the two committees that I serve in. First, you are not qualified to do so. This is the work of the party through the Secretary General Raphael Tuju And Chief Whip Ben Washiali, Secondly I have no problem being removed from the Transport and Budget Committees as long as the correct procedure is followed.

"Bring it on! I serve in the committees at the pleasure of the party. If the party decides that my services in the committees are no longer required, I will oblige. Third, all this persecution will come to an end one day," he said.

Mr Kuria's relationship with Duale has diminished lately despite both supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 State House bid. While Kuria plays a vital role in Central Kenya, Duale is the lead campaigner among the pastoralists.

Last year December, a section of Mt Kenya MPs led by Kuria openly threatened to kick out Duale from the powerful house leadership post. The plot was however not realised.

Mr Kuria has also been struggling to win the confidence of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who recently dismissed his discrimination claims on Mt Kenya development agenda.
