Mutua had taken to social media and revealed that he was contemplating joining the race.

He, however, said that he will only do so if a certain person keeps off the contest.

“I may have to think seriously of running for PORK in 2022 if a certain person doesn’t do so. Stay tuned,” he tweeted.

Hours later, Kiyiapi, who is also a former permanent secretary in the Ministries of Education assured him of his support.  He urged Makau to go for the seat while reminding him that his dreams are valid.

“Go for it Prof - better still let us rally like-minded to force a critical mass!” he retweeted

Makau thanked Ole Kiyapi for endorsement and promised to back his candidature. He also told him that he is now tasked with mobilizing voters from different parts of the nation in order to make his dream a reality

“Thanks to my brother Prof James Ole Kiyiapi. We are going full bore. We need to mobilize those who believe in freedom, opportunity, fairness, and a just society unencumbered by corruption and impunity, “ he said.

Ole Kiyiapi was a 2013 Kenyan Presidential candidate for the Restore and Build Kenya Party. Makau is set to lock horns with Deputy President William Ruto and Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka when that time comes.
