This comes after Kuria on Thursday revealed that he had received death threats following his New Year's Eve remarks suggesting that President Uhuru Kenyatta had neglected the Mt Kenya region in terms of development.

"I trust that this will put to an end the subtle and not too subtle threats to my life from opportunists, details of which I shared with DCI George Kinoti," said Kuria during a press statement at Parliament building.

Kuria shed more light on the kind of messages he had been receiving during an interview on Citizen TV, noting that he has been "receiving all sorts of funny calls people telling me that I will end up like JM Kariuki."

Raila Junior responded to Kuria's statement by sharing a screenshot of remarks by the MP allegedly warning those opposing Jubilee Party’s win in 2017 that they would suffer dire consequences.

“Surely can someone remind me if this is the same Moses Kuria who said this, now seeking assurance from DCI because his life is in danger? Aiy! Not the same Mose Dunia ni duara,” said Raila Junior.

On his part, Kuria responded by reminding Raila Junior of the Building Bridges Initiative aimed at uniting Kenyans which was launched by Uhuru and Raila.

“So what bridge are you building with this post Junior? Cc @RailaOdinga,” replied Kuria
