According to a report by the Standard, Sharon's body will be laid to rest at Samuel Odege's home in Magare village, contrary to many people's expectations.

This goes contrary to the culture dictating that she is to be buried at his husband, Bernard Owuor's place in Kamagambo, Migori county, with her family now maintaining that she was not married.

According to the former Medical Records student's step-grandfather, John Olwenya, the family is unaware of an affair between the two, after the latter's failure to officialize their supposed marriage.

"We are not aware of any marriage between Sharon and any man. The said husband has never paid us dowry and has failed to visit this family to notify us that he was living with Sharon,” Olwenya who doubles up as the family spokesman told the Standard on Saturday.

“I don’t know whether they were living as boyfriend and girlfriend. But the position of this family is that Sharon had no husband,” he is further quoted.

Burial date is, however, yet to be communicated, with a probe ongoing in a bid to bring her killers to justice.

Sharon who was seven months pregnant at the time of her death was found lifeless in Kodera Forest, Homabay county mid last week, after being reportedly abducted in Migori two days prior.

Her unborn baby was buried on Friday at the same place.
