The Bungoma senator, while speaking at the party headquarters, expressed confidence that Ali will win the Wajir West seat.

Wetang’ula said Ford Kenya will ensure that Ali is provided with enough resources during the campaign period to ensure residents in the constituency elect him.

He said that the party will ensure all the promises made are fulfilled adding that Ford Kenya will ensure their candidate delivers services to the people of Wajir West.

“We have received our candidate for the Wajir West by-election, and we are confident he will clinch the constituency seat. Ford Kenya will marshal enough resources to ensure our candidate wins. People know our party brags of good leadership and honesty. We are here to serve the people and that is why our party is popular everywhere and we promise to deliver services to the people of Wajir West,” said Senator Wetang’ula.

The Wajir West seat fell vacant following a ruling by the Supreme Court in January that nullified the election of Mohamed Kolosh on grounds that he was not validly elected.

Ali will face off with Jubilee Party’s Mohamed Kolosh, KANU’s Ibrahim Sheikh and Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) Mohamed Yusuf.
