Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi has called on Kenyans to promote population growth by having more babies.
According to the renowned businessman, the current population of about 42 million people is not enough.
“Let us make babies in the family unit. If unfortunately, we don't succeed, we do it elsewhere but these children… I am sorry to say... are our power today and tomorrow,” he stated.
Family planning campaigners are of the idea that the country’s resources are limited, hence the need to control the population.
However, Wanjigi, has a contrary opinion stating that Kenya has enough resources that can accommodate additional people.
“Greatness is in number and greatness is in these children. Get married, make babies, we want many children in this nation,” he said in a video posted online by the Daily Nation.
He went ahead to claim that nations like China and India drive their greatness from having many people and Kenyans should emulate the same in order to prosper.
Wanjigi further highlighted that countries like Nigeria and Ethiopia are headed for greatness due to rising population.
