Aukot, who unsuccessfully contested for the 2017 Presidential seat, now wants the number of members of parliament reduced.

He is advocating for the removal of the Women representative seat as well as deputy governor’s positions.

He is also advocating for a seven-year term presidency as opposed to the five-year term limit as per the current constitution.

He opines that the government is wasting a lot of resources in the wage bill at the expense of the common mwananchi, reports Daily Nation.

He unveiled his plan to submit a draft of the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2019 on February 21 to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

His party has embarked on an online campaign that is targeting more than 22 million users on this platform. He believes that he can use social media to influence decision making and educate Kenyans on the benefits of better leadership.

He will collect views and signatures from an estimated 1.3 million Kenyans across all the 47 counties in the country before submitting his proposal to the electoral body.

The proposals come after Deputy President William Ruto said he has no problem with a change in the law but he doesn’t advocate for the same because of the economic burden it will put on this nation at a time when there is a lot to be achieved.
