The national soccer team, Harambee Stars Striker Michael Olunga famously referred in football circles as the 'Engineer' has confirmed that he is back in action.

Olunga has literally been quiet and missing in action but apparently it was due to an injury he suffered a while ago.

“Feels good to be back after my injury. Thank you Lord #Godaboveall,” he posted on his Facebook page. His post was accompanied by photos showing him in what looks like a pre-season match with his Kashiwa Reysol side.

The Kenyan international joined Reysol in August last year from Chinese side Guangzhou Zhicheng. Earlier, he played for Girona FC in Spain on loan from the Chinese Super League side.

He previously played for Tusker FC, Thika United and Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and IF Djurgårdens in Sweden.

Kashiwa Reysol was relegated from the Japanese National League, known as the J-League, back in November last year.

His team will now feature in the Japanese second-tier league, known as J-League Division 2.

The new season kicks off on the 24th of this month with Olunga’s side opening the campaign against Renofa Yamaguchi, with the team seeking to make a quick return to the Japanese topflight league.

Olunga is expected to spearhead the Harambee Stars attack during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt, in June.
