Speaking in Narok East Constituency on Saturday, the DP’s confidants said Raila must tell detectives what he knows about the scandal.

“We call on the investigating agencies to do their work over the fake gold. If Odinga does not record a statement, then we would know that the DCI is engaging in a cover-up,” Narok Woman Representative Soipan Tuya was quoted by Citizen Digital.

“We are now at risk of being tagged criminals by foreigners. Yet, for a long time, we have guarded our image globally," she added.

The gold scandal has led to political fireworks between Raila and Ruto camps as politicians turn it into political fodder.

Raila has already admitted that he met Arab ruler Sheikh Mohammed but said he is the one who smoked out cons in the meeting.

Narok East MP Ken Aramat on his part said Raila has ‘more to tell the country’.

“They would move around the country purporting to be anti-corruption crusaders. What an irony?” Aramat said

Ruto, on his part, said Raila should not be given an opportunity to lead the country because he only ‘knows stories’.
