Days after the unexpected handshake with President Uhuru, in his first tour outside the capital, Raila promised to tour the region in his Building the Bridges initiative.

"This is my first destination since the handshake. I will ensure we visit this region in our planned series of rallies with Uhuru across the country," he said.

At Migori on Monday, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi reignited the debate when he asked Raila to 'pay the debt' during Senator Ben Oluoch's burial.

And a section of Nyamira leaders now want Raila to fulfill his promise adding that it would help resolve confusion surrounding the handshake.

"We have been waiting for long now and I think it is high time he visits with Uhuru. As followers, we want to know the way forward and probably what they have for us," said Richard Kaka, ODM chairman.

Victor Swanya, a Wiper politician added: "Since he promised to come, we are eager to welcome them. There are a lot of development issues we now want Raila to push on our behalf."

Both President Uhuru and Raila promised to tour the country with opposition strongholds being on top of their plans.

However, the plans have since been delayed but the duo are expected to visit Migori later on this month along with Tanzanian President John Magufuli.
