Makau Musyoki, 27, was killed under unclear circumstance a few meters from his homestead in Kangundo, Machakos County.

A postmortem report indicated that the man was hit several times on the head by a blunt object before his demise.

Police investigations have linked the death to his uncle Evans Kasyoki.

Kasyoki is allegedly said to have orchestrated the murder in order to claim Sh9 million from Jubilee Insurance Company.

The DPP wants the matter investigated faster to determine the persons behind the death.

“The DPP's attention has been drawn to the news feature that appeared on the primetime news in regard to the Kangundo incident. Due to the nature of the case, the DPP has directed that immediate legal steps be taken to ensure justice is done,” a statement from Haji’s office, posted on Twitter reads in part.

The DDP also warned persons who are planning to obstruct the course of justice into the deceased's death.
