A middle-aged man will face murder charges after he reportedly killed his wife after a quarrel over a romantic text message she received from a man who admired her.
The suspect is said to have been irked by the short message which entered her wife’s phone at 3:00 am.
Police said after a quarrel on Friday, he tied the woman’s hands and beat her to death.
“Officers were informed by the public that a couple was fighting in a house near Turbo trading centre, but when they arrived, they found the woman bleeding with her arms tied up. It was confirmed later that she was dead,’’ a police source said.
Neighbours said the two lovers have been having quarrels over infidelity as the suspect accused the deceased of flirting with other men.
Police said the suspect will be arraigned in court over the murder.
