Betty Obiri, a nominated MCA congratulated Matiang'i saying sanity on the roads must be restored.

"I love the way Matiang'i is working. Other cabinet secretaries should copy the same for the purpose of serving our people and improve their lives," she said.

Mrs Obiri urged Matiang'i to ignore critics and ensure the 'Michuki rules' are adhered to.

She called on politicians irrespective of their political affiliations to be at the forefront for the road rules to be implemented.

"Road carnage should come to an end. As leaders we should not politicise Matiang'i directive following the introduction of 'Michuki rules'. Let us gang-up and support Matiang'i's good work aimed at bringing sanity on the various roads across the country," she noted.

According to her, police officers manning roadblocks should not spare any PSV which doesn't meet the required road rules.

"Police should not accept bribe from rogue motorists to allow them pass at roadblocks. The lives of our people must be protected by ensuring the PSVs meet set road rules," she added.
