Borabu Sub County assistant county commissioner Michael Lesmum said house helps should be satisfied with salaries their employers pay them.

"It is our humble appeal to house help working at various homesteads in the area to stop being jealous to steal from their employers. Police will not spare house maids caught in possession of stolen items," he noted.

The police boss urged residents to ensure house helps they are hiring have no questionable integrity.

Lesmum pleaded with locals to report maids colluding with criminals to commit crime.

"People hiring maids should do a thorough background check on the maids before accepting the maids to work in their houses," he added.

The commissioner insisted that the house help who was caught with stolen maize will be arraigned in court on Monday to serve as an example to the rest of the maids in the region.

He further warned parents against allowing their daughters to drop school to be hired to work as house helps.
