Former US president Barrack Obama has landed at the Kisumu Airport amid tight security, on the second day of his private visit.

Obama who landed in the nation on Sunday left Nairobi aboard his private jet a few minutes after 7:00 am on Monday, and is expected to be received by Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o.

From Kisumu, Obama will head to Kogelo village in Siaya county where he will go directly to his grandmother Sarah Obama's home for breakfast.

After the same, Obama is expected to launch several initiatives founded by his elder sister Auma Obama, including a youth center about 800 metres from Mama Sarah's homestead.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at Mama Sarah's home, pending the ex-Potus visit as despite being retired, Obama still enjoys massive security.

On Sunday, Obama held meetings with both President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga at the Nairobi State House and Villa Rosa Kempinski hotel respectively.

He is expected to leave for a 4 day tour of South Africa at noon and is expected to among others, deliver the nation's former President Nelson Mandela's annual speech.
