A class five pupil has killed himself in Ndimu village, Elburgon in Nakuru County after he was allegedly denied permission to travel to Nairobi over this holiday season.

The 10-year-old, after a brief quarrel, with his parents is said to have shown withdrawal signs before he was found dangling from a tree.

Elburgon Assistant County Commissioner Naftali Korir has confirmed the incident.

The incident sent the sleepy village into a somber mood.

John Ndirangu Maigua, a neighbor, said the incident shocked them as the boy had no indiscipline issues.“We are shocked as parents.

The boy was known as an obedient child and has never been involved in immoral behaviours,” Maigua said.

The body was taken to Elburgon Nyayo Hospital mortuary.
