However, Kalonzo’s efforts to secure his release failed even after he appeared in court as a lawyer.

When Kalonzo joined the case, there was a rise in hope among the family, but things did not work as planned.

On Monday, Don Bosco was sentenced to a five-year jail term or be released on Sh15 million cash bail.

The businessman, who was charged of money laundering will be released if he pays the said amount.

The family has now embarked on raising the cash to ensure he is freed.

Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has promised to mobilize residents and other leaders from the region to ensure the funds are raised in order to secure him from the bars after many years of seeking justice.

“I want to thank all the many people who did one thing or the other to ensure Don Bosco secured his freedom. We have been waiting for this for far too long and we are happy he is finally coming home,” Onyonka said.

The businessman's family has been crying for justice for their son following his arrest.

The government had tried to send several delegations to Tanzania but the attempts were fruitless.
