A middle-aged woman was found dead on Sunday evening at her rented house in Kalandini village, Matungulu constituency, Machakos county.
Confirming the incident Kalandini location chief Julius Mbai said that the woman who was found lying in a pool of blood died after an abortion went wrong.
In her house, a bucket with a foetus stashed in it was found.
He said that the body of the woman was discovered by members of the public who notified him.
"I was called and told that a body had been found in one of the rented house in the market", said Mbai.
The woman is said to have been staying with her sister who is a businesswoman before renting the house where she was found lying in a pool of blood.
Her body wheeled by police to Kangundo mortuary. Mbai condemned the act saying that it's criminal to procure an abortion urging women to desist from such acts.
“Young women should desist from conducting abortions once they realise they are pregnant instead pull yourself together and plan for your forthcoming baby", urged the chief.
Police from Tala have begun investigations into the incident.
