On Friday, Jumwa and Suleiman Dori, in the company of their lawyer Kioko Kilukumi, appeared in the disciplinary committee and defended themselves over their working relationship with DP William Ruto.

But an ODM insider says Ms. Jumwa has met Raila a couple times at his Karen home, where she has been pushing for forgiveness.

"The disciplinary action may not be that lethal. She (Jumwa) has been meeting Raila at Karen a couple times and asked for forgiveness.

"In fact, Raila has no problem with them. But the meetings which usually took place at night could save her. And henceforth, you'll see reduced engagements with Ruto," said the insider, who asked not to be named.

At the disciplinary committee, Jumwa insisted that she was not briefed much about the handshake thus her relationship with Mr. Ruto.

She also insisted that she has been remitting funds to the party, a sign of commitment as required in certain party clauses.

"I have been remitting contributions and furthermore, we were not given the boundary for engaging Jubilee members after the handshake," she told the committee.

Raila was on Saturday appointed as African Union High Representative for Infrastructure, a move that could minise his local engagement in politics.
