Ngunjiri, through a press address on Sunday, said President Uhuru Kenyatta has failed to keep the country in order and thus he should ‘call for an election today’.

“If Uhuru is tired, let him call for an election immediately for the presidential seat. People are cornered because there is no business . . . there is no government that has cornered people from the Mt Kenya region politically and economically like this government (of Uhuru),” Ngunjiri said.

The vocal legislator also told off politicians opposed to Deputy President William Ruto over the 2022 presidential race.

Ngunjiri said if it were not for Ruto, ‘Uhuru would not have been president today’.

“We are saying we must work with the structure that was put by Jubilee, the work Ruto has done we must stand with him. If it were not for Ruto, Uhuru would not have become President. Ruto was sober campaigning,” he said.

The MP said they stand with Deputy President as his coalition with Uhuru brought peace in the Rift Valley.
