Speaking on Sunday, Douglas Otieno warned that those behind the murder of her daughter will never know peace in their lives.

“The killers will not know any peace. We are pleading with the government not to spare any suspect … Sharon’s body will be laid to rest when we see the killers in the dock,” Otieno was quoted by the Nation.

“We want to see our daughter’s killers in the dock. I want peace, I want to rest,” Sharon’s mother, Melida Auma added.

Sharon Otieno’s body was discovered in Homabay County’s Kodera forest over a week ago. She was killed by unknown people after being kidnapped alongside Nation Journalist Barack Oduor.

Oduor managed to escape from the abductors' speeding car. At the time of her death, the 26-year-old Otieno was seven months pregnant.

She was allegedly impregnated by Migori governor Zachary Okoth Obado, who was initially linked to her murder. Last week, governor Obado denied having a hand in the death.

Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo, however, remains in police custody as investigations into the murder continue.
