Kenya Premier League (KPL) Champions Gor Mahia will play Brazilian Club Santos FC in a friendly match later this year.

The match will be played at the Moi Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, on December 01, 2018.

Gor Mahia’s Secretary General Ben Omondi has disclosed that Santos made the initial contact at the start of this month through a formal inquiry addressed to the club Chairman Ambrose Rachier.

“We are telling Kenyans to expect a big friendly never before staged in East Africa and this will be a good experience for our boys and for our fans,” Omondi told Ramogi FM.

In May this year, Gor Mahia played English Championship side Hull City in a friendly march in Nairobi.

The team is set to play English Premier League side Everton at the Goodison Park, in another Friendly match on November 06, 2018.

Santos Football Club currently coached by Cuca are 8-times Brazilian National League (Seria A) Champions, with the last title coming in 2004. 

On the other hand, Gor Mahia records 17-times KPL Champions, having been crowned 2018 Champions recently.

The Brazilian side is known worldwide for producing numerous talents among them Pele, who is considered the best player ever after leading the Brazilian National soccer team to three world cup titles.

Santos is also the former home for PSG superstar Neymar Junior.
