Drama was witnessed on Tuesday night after a drunk female university student stripped at a bar following Belgium's 0-1 loss to France in the World Cup semi-final.
The student, Carol Wanjiku is said to have placed a Sh50,000 bet on Belgium to beat France. The incident which saw the lady strip almost completely shocked the customers at Wines and Spirits Party bar in Eldoret town.
"After France, Belgium game ended, we saw a group of people crowding on a corner of the bar. We went there to see what was happening, and that is when we saw a lady trying to remove her clothes," John Kamau, a bouncer at the bar explained.
Wanjiku who was drunk had hoped that Belgium would win the match and hence placed a huge bet on the team. The loss, therefore, came as a big shock to her and acting under the influence of alcohol, she opted to strip.
"She was completely drunk and we don't think she even knew what she was doing. Some of the people prevented her from stripping completely and covered her using the towels from the waitress," a male waitress said.
A female waitress at the bar helped the student by covering her and taking her to a room at the back of the bar. She was however in tears and regrets. She had high hopes on the team to the extent of drinking almost all of her money.
"She kept ordering more drinks during the game. She really spent a lot of money on the drink. She was crying when we took her to the room," Ann Nekesa who is a waitress at the bar said.
