For two days last week, Ruto camped in Keroka and Bomachoge with a section of local politicians pledging loyalty.

Besides their diehard followers, the two politicians have heightened their campaigns in the region with over one million votes at state.

Later on this week, Raila is expected to grace Don Bosco Gichana's homecoming, which interestingly, DP Ruto has also been invited.

Mr. Gichana, a millionaire businessman, was released from Tanzania prison a month ago and is believed to be popular among youths in Nyamira and Kisii Counties.

With Simba Arati, a key Raila ally, is courting Bosco to ODM while Oscar Sudi, a close friend of the DP, is struggling to bring him on board.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is also at the center of vicious politics with his recent snubbing of Ruto's events in Gusii raising eyebrows.

Mr. Matiang'i, who is expected to run for Nyamira gubernatorial seat, has also been pictured with Raila in private events including the wedding to former Garissa Governor Nadhif Jamah's son.

Solicitor General Ken Ogeto is also pulling strings in Gusii especially among professionals and is considered as a power broker.

During last year's polls, he was a key campaigner for Jubilee in Nyamira and Kisii Counties, and would be later on rewarded the State Attorney job.

Conspicuously, he has been missing in action from Ruto's Gusii region tours thus raising suspicions over his next move.
