On Monday, there was drama at Kangundo DEB primary school grounds after several lawmakers, who had been invited by Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene for the launch of National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) programme publicly exchanged words over the duo.

Hell broke loose when Kitui Woman Representative Irene Kasalu launched a scathing attack at leaders opposed to Kalonzo’s leadership in the region.

She warned governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) against planning to topple Kalonzo as the Ukambani political kingpin.

Kasalu claimed that the governors disrespect the Wiper leader and urged them to desist from the same as soon as possible.

The remarks did not augur well with Kangundo MP Fabian Muli who reminded her that the narrative of having Kalonzo as the political kingpin no longer exists.

“Away with this nonsense about political kingpin. As a community, we need to start looking at things differently and objectively,” said the Kangundo MP.

The three governors have affirmed that they will unite the community in matters of development as they plan to help one of their own ascend to power when that time comes.
