Political analyst Edward Kisiangani now says that there is an ongoing infighting within the ruling Jubilee Party, pitting president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto's factions.

Speaking on Opinion Court on Citizen TV on Thursday, Kisiangani pointed at the recent remarks by Ruto's allies, demonising the arrest and prosecution of Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC)former chief Ben Chumo and Managing Director Ken Tarus over graft.

In a press conference on Wednesday, a section of Rift Valley leaders led by Belgut lawmaker Nelson Koech claimed that the war on graft is taking a tribal turn, calling for the revisiting of the first National Youth Scandal saga where the nation lost millions of shillings to graft.

According to Kisiangani, the remark was directly aimed at Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru, who was then the Devolution Cabinet Secretary.

The same, he said, was in a bid to attack Uhuru for taking less interest in having his community members prosecuted while remaining mum the woes of his deputy's community.

"By talking about NYS season 1, they were talking about Waiguru and attacking one side of the alliance for victimising the other," he said.

His remarks were echoed by fellow panellist Herman Manyora who, however, noted that the President is most likely to remain silent, as he too has been stained and his family implicated in the graft.

"Uhuru is very careful on this issues and shouldn't be expected to hit back because he too is dotted courtesy of his brother Muhoho's recent implication in the sugar saga," said Manyora.
