Speaking in Kilifi County on Sunday, the MP accused Ruto of lying to the community that he is pushing for their interests when he is actually pushing for his.

Citing the ongoing anti-graft war, Kamket criticised the DP for dragging the entire community into his woes.

The lawmaker urged the DP to carry his own cross if found guilty and to stop proposing that the fight is targeting the community, in an apparent bid to turn it into his shield.

He noted that the corrupt steal alone and for themselves and not with or on behalf of their communities, adding that Ruto should leave Kalenjins out of his problems and face them alone.

"Nobody steals with his community’s knowledge, therefore, those implicated in corruption should carry their own cross,” said the MP as quoted by the Standard.

Kamket is a close ally of KANU leader and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Ruto's political rival in Rift Valley and a possible competitor in the 2022 presidential race.

Speaking in the company of Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi at Mtomondoni School, the MP added that Moi will be in the race to Statehouse and will soon begin the journey.

“I have come here like John the Baptist to prepare the way for Gideon Moi. He will come here and talk to the Coast people," he added.
