The suspects, Kefah Nyaikondo and Bonic Mose were arrested on Thursday by police officers from Nyakoe police station.

It is alleged that the suspects raided Magdalene Bonareri’s house in Bogeka village on Wednesday night where they gang-raped her.

Area police boss Caleb Wesa said the suspects will be arraigned in court Friday.

“The two men will be taken to court to be charged over rape. They raped Bonareri who was sleeping in her house alone. It is time they will regret their bad decision,” said Wesa.

Wesa said the suspects are among the chang’aa addicts in the village.

The police boss warned local youths against targeting old women and school girls to have illicit sex with them.

“Rape is illegal and punishable by the law. I wish to urge youths fond of raping old women and school girls to stop before the law catches up with them,” he noted.

He added that Bonareri is currently being treated at Bosongo private hospital following the severe injuries she sustained during the ordeal.
