Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is among the many footballer who have sent their condolence messages to the fallen Cardiff City striker Emiliano Sala.

Wanyama took to his twitter account to pay his tribute to the Argentine striker.

“R.I.P Emiliano ,” he wrote on his twitter account.

News of his death were confirmed on Thursday night by local police officers who revealed that the wreckage of the plane carrying Sala and the plane pilot; David Ibbotson was found and their bodies recovered. 

The former Nantes footballer had been signed by Cardiff City and was on his way to his new club when this unfortunate accident happened. 

The accident happened back in January 21st, however, after 3 unsuccessful searches, the exercise was halted on January 24th.

The police came out to give their official statement on this matter. 

“The body brought to Portland Port today, Thursday 7 February 2019, has been formally identified by HM Coroner for Dorset as that of professional footballer Emiliano Sala,"

“The families of Mr Sala and the pilot David Ibbotson have been updated with this news and will continue to be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers. Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”

“HM Coroner will continue to investigate the circumstances of this death supported by Dorset Police,” reads a statement from the police.
