He said he is in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022 general election regardless of who his opponents will be.

Citing recent statements by a section of ODM party leaders, Siaya Senator James Orengo and party chairman John Mbadi, Joho said their party leader Raila Odinga, has never asked him to stop his bid.

Odinga, a former prime minister has unsuccessfully vied for presidency four times.

Orengo and Mbadi said Odinga was still ODM's potential presidential candidate in 2022, a move that would compromise Joho's hope since he seeks to vie through ODM.

"Raila has never asked me not to vie for the presidency," Joho disclosed.

He added that Kenya is a democratic country which provides equal opportunities to anyone.

"I believe this country can give chance to anybody..just believe the sky is the limit."

This comes as Coast ODM rebels who were once Joho's close allies continue to popularize Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid in the larger coast region.

They include Coast Parliamentary Group (CPG) chairperson who is also Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori, his deputy Galole MP Said Hiribae, Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo (Wiper), Jomvu MP Badi Twalib Bady, Kaloleni MP Peter Katana, Mshenga Vuyaa Ruga, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa among others.
