Addressing residents at Thika Stadium on December 31, a tipsy Kuria was filmed bashing the President for allegedly snubbing his Central Kenya backyard in terms of development.

He claimed that Uhuru has instead been taking development initiatives to other regions.

"We cannot be turned into voting machines who only do the job of voting but do not get any development. Instead, its being taken to other regions leaving us with nothing," he said.

Speaking in Nakuru on Saturday, former Subukia lawmaker and veteran politician Koigi wa Wamwere agreed with the Gatundu MP.

He said the region lags behind in most areas despite top leadership coming from the region.

He ranked it among the least developed despite giving the nation three of her men as Kenay's presidents; Jomo Kenyatta, Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Muigai.

"It's true that the region is poorly developed even compared to neighboring regions like Githunguri. I once tried to visit my relatives who live in Kiambu but I had to drive back due to poor roads," he said.

Wamwere was speaking during an interview on Sauti Ya Mwananchi Radio's Cheche Show.

Kuria has since been forced to apologize to the President following a week of heavy bashing by fellow Kikuyu politicians.
