The expulsion of Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from ODM has widened the rift between African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Amolo Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
Ruto has now launched a scathing attack against Raila following the woes of Jumwa.
According to Ruto, Raila is not a champion of women’s right. He noted that Raila, who has vowed to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been pretending to be a fighter for the rights of women but that’s not the case.
The second in command said that Raila wants to be worshipped before he can accommodate ideas of any individual.
“You who've masqueraded as champions of women, now in your true colours expel a woman elected in her own right after defeating men and blackmail her to kneel and worship you as an 'apology'. Crime? Associating with elected DP of GoK you have 'handshake' with. Tragically deceitful,” Ruto said through his Twitter account.
Raila and Ruto have been differing over the alleged loss of Sh. 21 billion in the dam’s project.
The ODM Leader has insisted that Ruto should come clean over the graft claims.
On his part, Ruto has maintained that no single coin has been lost in the dam’s project. The DP has accused Raila of politicizing the war against graft.
